SURFRAW

This is something I knew about but never implimented until recently: Surfraw. Its a linux command line utility. It allows searching a spefied browser from a command line shell prompt using simple codes. I’ve aliased mine very simply to “ix” which searches the ixquick search engine. My favorite for its privacy promise against google, which harvests your ip address and the search terms you use with the GET search method. This command line utility takes it one step further and gets rid of the search box.
